The 4th Twitter Event Blind Tasting is taking place on Sunday, April 25th at 9pm and we’re delighted to be supplying the wine for this one. For those of you familiar with the event and just looking to buy the wine prior to the event click here. If you’re still scratching your head asking “Twhat?” then read on…

TWEBT is the brainchild of 3 people; Brian Clayton (@brianclayton), Kevin Crowley (@KevAtFennsQuay) and Paul Kiernan (@grapes_of_sloth) and essentially combines blind tasting a specific wine from the comfort of your home using Twitter to post your updates and follow the updates from other participants. Brian has explained this all very clearly on his own blog. A special thanks to Lar Veale (@SmallSips) who pointed us in the right direction for this event and put us in touch with Brian.

Each month a different supplier is selected by the guys and asked to offer a mystery bottle for sale.  The wine will be carefully wrapped so that you can’t see the label or any distinguishing features. Brian and Kevin host the event and guide the tasting through 5 stages. The event is expected to last about 90 minutes.

  1. Open a Twitter account at http://twitter.com 
  2. Follow us @OBriensWine, Brian @brianclayton and Kevin @KevAtFennsQuay and the hashtag #twebt
  3. Buy the Mystery Wine on our website before Tuesday 20th http://www.obrienswine.ie/Wine/White-/15-20/10WIRL001
  4. Keep an eye on Brian and Kevin’s instructions between now and April 25th and be ready to participate as much or as little as you like on the night.

    Rumour has it that it was you requesting a wrapped bottle of wine that inspired the idea in the first place!!!
